Its been a long time since I've been to Batam. I went there again this CNY, mosque visiting trip. We were suppose to go to a nearby island but were sent via a 2 hour boat trip to Pulau Jaga. The boat had little cover so most of were wet with sea water and tanned by the sun. The mosque didn't have fans save for two little ones that were switched on only for 2 hours at night but it was okay. We were there to learn the trials and tribulations faced by the pioneers of Islam, not for a holiday. The local brothers cooked for us and we spent our time trying our best to visit all of the 80 houses of fishermen who were there. We set back to Singapore on Monday and had time to do a little bit of shopping at the mainland Batam.
