Shortest holiday ever...

Desaru beach resort

My friend, my wife and I decided to drive up to Desaru on a short one day trip. It was like a 2 hour drive from Spore. I was a bit apprehensive cos I dont really know how to go there and the maps that I got from internet are not really reliable. Still despite making just about 1 wrong turn we manage to get there in under 3 hours.
the beach was superb.. it was quite deserted being a Monday I guess. The sand is really soft and the water very clear. We manage to go go-karting but gave the jet ski and dune buggy a miss cos shortage of funds. On the way back we brought some durians and head to Angsana.

Balance

I am currently reading the verse An-Nisaa or in English, 'woman'. God actually created one very long chapter in the quran for woman , imagine that.
I went with my wife to a tupperware assembly 2 days ago. I felt quite uneasy being the only male species down there. Anyway as I was waiting for Maghrib in the car, I sneaked for a while, my wife called me. She told me I won a lucky draw prize and I rushed back up just in time to collect my prize which of course is... tupperware. I finally won something, I mean I've been losing at pool and the paintball but now I won something . I guess life balances itself out - positive and negative, light and dark, male and female, black and white, winning and losing. Its all in a balance like when you keep on falling one day you will find yourself on top. Hopefully.

War!!!

OO nooo! I'm hit by a paintball!!

I give instructions to my men. We then get ready and as the signal went off to start the game, I felt something that I have never felt for a long long time - the adrenaline rush. I got hit a few times before we are ready to get the ammo box. Sensing that I'm gonna be hit, I took the box and threw it to one of my men. Indeed I was shot a few times but I ain't got time to bleed. The girl took the box and ran 'home' thereby producing the first victory for our team. It was great. But we lost the remaining games. Nonetheless me and my wifey and ten other people who played paintball that night had tremendous fun and was totally exhausted. Wish it didn't cost too much though.
The day before I took my nephew and my niece out together for the first time. We had fun , eating pizza, bowling and playing pool. My niece introduced me to a Manga shop and I finally had my wish - getting an English version of Samurai X.

Victory at both ends

We won wohoo!

I did maghrib at Malabar Mosque then head down on a bike with my best friend to the national stadium on Saturday. The crowd wasn't that many (18000) but if it was the Tiger Cup match maybe they would be more. Before the kick of the Singapore and the Malaysian players threw autographs soccerballs to the crowd. If I had sat nearer, as I had suggested to my friend, I would have gotten the ball . But no matter we went there for the match and it was great match. I felt that Spore didn't play that well and the Malaysian counterparts were better but the two goals by Noh Alam Shah was simply superb. Especially the first one when he did the scissor kick. We went back happy that night. Come to think of it I haven't watch a match live in the stadium where Spore lose. Not yet perhaps.
The following day I watched 19 yera old Nadal of Spain beat Puetra of Argentina in the French Open. Although I caught only the last set I can tell it was another great match. I wonder how it feels to play tennis in clay. Maybe I should try it sometime.

Preparing for the coming week ...

End point of my jogging route ..

I tried to help an old lady today but it didn't work out. She was carrying some heavy load from the market and I gave her salam and tried to take one from her. She blatantly refuse saying that she didn't want to trouble anybody. Unperturbed I tried again as I walk with her cos she made a stop and was obviously very tired. Still she refuse but she smile as she did so . Hmm maybe I look evil? But I did told her I wasn't gonna run away with her stuff. I was a bit taken aback by her refusal but I did admire her courage.
My 2.4km has improved. I did 13.25min on Wednesday and this morning I did about 21 min for about 3.5km. Maybe I can run the marathon after all. But all this is more less to prepare for the Paintball Game me, my wifey and my colleagues are going to next week. We are definitely gonna kick some serious @#%& baby!
