I took the 'no bus rule' on Tuesday. Yup, I jog all the way back home. I started at about 615pm at Buona Vista MRT and did my warm ups. It went well at first but there were a lot of red traffic light. I reached Clementi after about 20 minutes " Not bad ..", I thought so I continued running. I took a short cut and entered the exit to PIE and stop by the canal to take the picture above. After running past Clementi Camp, the pathway stopped and I had to run at the side of the road. When I reached Bukit Batok, I was really struggling but I still manage to reach Yusof Ishak Sec School. I stopped one bus stop away from my house at about 715pm , bought 100+ and walked home. I did some walking here and there but overall it was worthwhile jogging experience. Might do it again next week.

"EEEee disgusting!", my wife keep on saying that as she peel off my sunburn skin. That was last week, as we watch 'American Idol' I took off my tee shirt and showed her the extend of my sunburn skin. . Today I'm still peeling.
I went to the newly open Civil Service Club near my place. The place is set against the lush greenery of Bukit Batok. I like the swimming pool which features a wave pool and a whirling slide. Might go there this week or next for bowling.

My colleague told me that she is officially attached last week. I am happy for her cos her blogs may not be so depressing now ;-) . Anyway, having heard the news triggered some of my memories of my past which inspired me to write the poem above.

..song by Sheryl Crow. 2 days before the chalet I was suffering from a bad cough so I took MC. I like to take the day off once in awhile and sit home and watch DVD's or play my PS2. This time I watch the 2 movies 'Final Destination 1 and 2' back to back.
The chalet day came and of course I was very excited to have some fun and bond with my best friend, my family and relatives. The first day I took a swim with my best friend and went bowling after that. I didn't know that my mom-in-law was quite good at bowling. She even beat the female cousins of wife who were 10 20 times younger than her. That night I played a board game that I have not played for about 20 years - Monopoly. It was the 'Star Wars' version of the game and we played till the wee hours of the morning. In fact I slept for about 2 hours before going swimming again and having a whale of a time at the 'Wild Wild Wet'. I took a nap before the BBQ which went on till about 10pm. There was lot of food left over which we brought back the next day.
Today, I had to drag myself out of bed to get back to work. I still had some sunburn on my back and shoulders. I made a mistake of telling my friends about it cos they start taking ever opportunity they have to slap my back .... ouch!

While I was marching with the rest towards the gas chamber for the 2 days 'Chemical Warfare' course, I felt like we were marching towards our doom. My detail was the 2nd last to go in. We suit up with the special uniform, boots, gloves, gas mask and waited out side the door for a final briefing. I was quite nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time. The time finally came and we went and got into our respective position. The instructors burn the pellet and visible fumes of gas start to fill the room. Our detail did the drills without any hitch despite the fact there was the most 'sotongest' man in my detail. The last bit involved taking out the protective mask, shouting out your own particulars and walking through the door. When it came to my turn, I thought I did ok till I went out the door and I felt my face burning. Water flowed freely from my eyes and nose. But I, together with the rest of my men were fine after a few minutes. We outprocessed the same day and I manage to watch Kate Beckinsale in 'Underworld 2. There was a scene when Kate's, a vampire, face was burn by the sun. Man, I know what that felt like.

I wanted to wake up early to watch soccer at 430 am but ended up waking up 1 hour later. It was alright though cos I saw Man Utd won over Wigan through a last minute own goal by a Wigan defender. Not only that I manage to go to the mosque in time for fajar prayers.
The first reservist stint that I went to was so much fun. But that was years ago, now I dread the thought of going back again although its quite nice to take leave from work. Fortunate for us this time it will be 2 day training starting from tomorrow. Who knows we might....

We finally did it! After about 1 year of delay, my colleagues and I finally went and carried out the plan of playing soccer together. Although there were only 8 of us plus 2 female spectators, we did manage to have some fun on the field. Clearly me and the rest of the guys who have hit 30 were totally out of shape and needed a break after only 10 mins of play. Still, I am happy that I can still score some goals and celebrate in style.
I went to a former colleague wedding dinner on Saturday. Its been a long time since I last attended a Chinese wedding, a few years perhaps. My colleague, the bride, looked stunning in her wedding dress and her hubby although he put on some weight, looks very presentable. I was happy to be with my friends and the food was oklah. However, I did hit some prawns accidentally and due to my allergy, my lips swell a bit. It was alright though in the morning.
