Indulge

Ever since the new Jurong East Library opened, I have been borrowing nothing but comic books. As a matter of fact this year, except for Da Vinci Code and HP and the Half Blood Prince I have read nothing else except graphic novels. All of them borrowed from Jurong East library. Here are some that I would recommend from there:

1. Complete Concrete

2. Batman Black and White

3. Daredevil Yellow

4. Sandman Library

5. Green Lantern Emerald Dawn

5. Avengers Dissemble

Dropped the bomb

I check my watch ... 620pm, there is still some time left. Once out of the MRT, I made my way down the escalator, tapped my card, rush through the gates and ran out. The sky start to darken. I made my home in less than 10 minutes, unlock the door and switch on the TV. Phew! There is still 20 minutes left of the game between Australia and Uruguay qualifying match and the Aussies leading 1-0. Aggregate still 1-1. Australia later won the match 4-2 on penalties and qualify for world cup 2006 for the first time in 30 years. They celebrated as if they won the world cup itself.
My boss dropped the bomb on me, he told me I would be doing 60 projects in a month. Man, maximum I ever did was 20. But I guess its ok cos I have not doing much of the other stuff which I used to do.
I'm waiting for the above movie to open... meanwhile Ill be watching Harry Potter and the goblet of fire next week.

Visiting days

My colleagues and friends were invited to my house 1 week after Hari Raya. It was good to see them again as I was having leave throughout the week. I miss some of them who were no longer working the same dept as me. I was glad that they enjoyed the food and was also glad that it was sufficient especially the 3kg of fried chicken wings.
I visited my brothers and sisters house on Sunday. They came to my house in the morning and ate the prata that I bought at Alif's( there is still some leftover in the fridge now). I was grateful that my dad-in-law manage to lend us the car. So me, my wifey, my mom, sis, nephew and the maid went to my aunt's house and my sis house in the afternoon. I went to my best friend's house after that. It was the first time that my mom went and she and my buddy's mom actually hug each other before they left. It was quite a moment for my to see them showing so much affection for each other.
The last place we visited was Trevose Park condo, my eldest brother's house ( see pic above). We had the famous Adam road nasi lemak. It was quite good, comparable to the one in Boon Lay market. His house was of course fantastic especially the interior design of the rooms. Wish I could live like that... but Alhamdulillah.. I am happy with what I have

Feasting days

Hari Raya days when on as usual as I visited my parents on the first day. This time I didn't get a chance to meet any of my brothers and sisters. They went off before I reached there. But I managed to catch my cousins from Johor. On the second day we went visiting again and on the third day we were visited.
That Saturday my colleagues went to the birdpark and I was unable to join them cos I thought there would be people coming to my house. No one came, not in the day anyway, so I spend the afternoon with my wife hanging out a Jurong East. We suppose to buy a frame for a jigsaw puzzle but we went to the library instead and borrowed a total of 16 books. Mine were mostly comic books and hers were magazines.
Sunday was a visiting day again and almost every house we went there were food available. By the time we reached home both me and I wife were very bloated. One of the uncle we visited gave us bowling balls. A bowling fanatic he had so many and had to give them away before his wife threw them out. That night was a memorable night for me cos I watched my team Man U ending Chelsea 40 games unbeaten run by a score of 1-0.Woo hooo!

Wet Hari Raya Morning

I can hear the takbir from the mosque from my house. I am always touched when I hear it. Maybe because I have so called successfully conqured my nafs in Ramadhan or thinking about how the Ramadhan could be better.
It just stopped raining after I watched Man U lost, again, this time to Lile. I couldn't sleep after that. I had a quarrel with my wife last nite about the curtains. I guess both of us were very tired after making so much preparation on the house for Eid. We kiss and make up after that.
Every Hari Raya I reflect on my marriage and how it turn out to be. I guess our marriage like most marriages are not perfect but somehow we manage to pull through and get to Eid together. Its always nice to have someone special to spend the festive season with.
