Move Along
Many years ago, when I was working for the 'old' company, I was one of the few people of 'my generation' among my colleagues. Although there were a lot of aunties who were there and we managed to form a good working relationship still I felt a bit isolated.
Then came a group of colleagues, most were actually ten years younger than me, but some how we managed to bond. We had a whale of a time . Especially when 'work' was not actually 'work'. We spend time catching snakes, teasing each other, fooling around and having long lunches on Wednesdays. Sometimes we stopped work at 4pm to play Scrabble. I even had a hammock which I used in between wash cycles. Once while I was l sleeping there I woke up surrounded by my friends with water bombs on their hands. I don't have to explain what happened next. It was a prank to celebrate my Birthday in which they bought me some clothes and video games.
Time passed and we shifted to new place. Work became hectic and we got separated into 2 departments. Some of the girls went on to greener pastures. A new batch people came in and although they are as nice as the previous bunch I don't quite bond with them as with the previous batch. There is still one or two left but it wasn't as fun as it used to be. Well again, I guess everybody have to move along.
