All I want

I did a whole lot of feasting last week and this week. Yesterday I went out to Seoul Garden and eat until I didn't have the need for dinner. Last Friday was Secret recipe and the marble cheese cake was so nice that it left me speechless. My wife even brought some home with her.
I finally used my HMV $10 voucher to buy the Best of U2 cd. This is my second cd this year. There was a time when I bought cds regularly and I got a whole collection of them. I gave most of them away. Its like I gave up on music but not completely. Maybe it was a passing of age.

Drive

My wife called and told me on Saturday that her friend rented a Honda Tuscani and she was gonna ride a sports car for the first time. Coincidentally someone in the mosque took us out in a Subaru WRX.
I spend my birthday in Sentosa trying out some of the new attractions. Not all of them are good though. A lot of changes have been made to the island and my friend said that it disturb the serenity of the island. We went to Swensen's for dinner that night. My wife was so teed off that the kitchen forgot her order that she complained to the supervisor. We got a free soup for that. I told her to that again yesterday when we were at Swensen's again and she gave me that 'don't-start-with-me-look'.
Its been a long time since I went to TOYS R US. I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of toys there and wish that I was younger. At that point in time I could play all those toys but nobody could buy it for me. Now I can buy all these toys but I'm too old to play with them. Well that's life I guess.

Macho man

I am embarking on something which I called the 'Pandan Project'.You see eversince I saw my friend's pandan plant and how he told me how easy it is to manage one I tried to grow one on my own. I bought the plant from the market, soil from pasar malam and pot from a previous failed attempt( refer to one of my post). But its been 2 days and the plant doesn't look good. Oh well, there is always hope.
" Its totally unmacho of us.... "
" What? "
" 2 guys going out shopping.."
My buddy smiled after that. Orchard road was severely packed with people. Its like little India on Sunday night but here its actual Singaporeans whereares there would be Indians and Bangladeshis. We actually planned on to play tennis but it rained. I was fortunate to play the previous day and hang out with some of my colleagues whom I have not seen for quite a while.

Big Yellow Cab

So far I've been naming my post after songs or the chorus of songs. Anyway, I was visiting my relative the other day at the hospital during lunch and as I was waiting for the bus it started when to pour. Since I was late I decided to take a cab back. The driver was nice and friendly. Just as I was about to enter my work area, much to my horror I realized I left my handphone in the cab. I called back and the driver was nice enough to bring it I back to me. He even refused the small token of money that I wanted to give him as a reward but I persisted and shove it to his hand. My colleagues said that I was lucky cos most people who leave their hp in the cab are considered game over. Its good to know that despite of all the 'not-so-nice' cabbies, there also some nice ones out there. Keep up the good work!

Goodbye doesn't mean forever

I was fighting to hold back my tears as my brother's family went through the departure door at the airport towards a new life in Australia. I'm not only gonna miss him but my nephews as well. Especially the eldest who was the first grandchild of my mom who was already wet with tears that day. I felt like a broken man. As went to the nearby mosque I pray hard that Allah watch over them in Australia. I don't know when I'm gonna visit them... soon Insyalllah.
Its been a week since my cousin's engagement ( see pic of house above). Up until now I still don't know how to get to the place. I had to ask one of them to fetch my from Angsana. I cant believe my mom cooked for about 100 people who showed up for the function. Everything went well I guess save for the going back part. After shopping at Angsana we were caught in the jam for 2hours plus. Longest so far that I have been in. Worst part was that I was the one driving.

Sadness part 1

I remember about ten years ago I was working for the flavouring company and he would be waiting at the door for me to get home. At that time my nephew was being looked after by my mom, so when I reach home I would bring him down and play with him. He was so cute back then. Now he is 14 and look like Harry Potter. This Saturday my brother is gonna bring him and my two other nephews to Australia to migrate. Im gonna miss him a lot.
Lately my work has been getting a lot physical and hectic. I carried so many bags of diet, cages and bedding that my back is starting to hurt. Whats more my projects are increasing.
I dropped my comb inside the toilet bowl last month. This month I did it again yesterday .... maybe its gonna be a monthly event.
