Turn my head

...song from Live.
I can't wait to have my own car. Probably have to wait a little longer cos my wife hasn't got a permanent job and my finances is not stable yet. But Ill wait and be patient....
I went out looking for a gift for my wife at Bugis Junction but didn't get what I wanted so me and my biker friend head on down to Boat Quay to hang out. Its been quite sometime since I went there. Its so crowded nowadays. The tide was rising and I felt like a swim but I guess I rather not be in the front page news the next day. My wifey was watching that 'Gay Cowboy movie'. I told her that I wouldn't be paid to watch that. I am proud to be a heterosexual and watching guys do intimate scenes, even if they were acting, well.... errgh... I just can't take it.

Woman

That is the title of a song by John Lennon.

One day a teenage boy fell in love with a principal's daughter. She was so beautiful. He chase her one day when she was going home and wanted to tell her how much he loved her but didn't know how to do it. He saw her going up a bus and realized that it was now or never. He suddenly got an idea and wrote his feelings on a dead leaf and passed it to boy and told him to give it to her. His view was suddenly obstructed by a passing group of army trucks. When all is cleared, the bus was no longer there. He was so disappointed when he saw the boy returned with the leaf. But when he looked at the leaf it was written, " What took you so long?", he looked up and saw her standing in front of him.
Anyway you want to know the rest of the story you have to watch the movie 'Mohabbatein '. I was sort of inspired by the movie to write my feelings for my wife on a dead leaf but never got round to do it. Maybe this is what I will write.... 5 things about me and my wifey. Sorry its a bit mushy

1. She is cute and cuddly

2. I love to hug her.

3. I kiss her everyday before going to work and when I come home.

4. I find it hard to sleep without her near me.

5. When she smile at me she warms my heart and light up my life.

Still loving you

When I first heard that song I had an argument over the lyrics with one of my friends. I told him the song goes ...' Ill be back to love you again '. He said no, it was ' Ill regret to love you again . Being 10 years old at that time I didn't understand the word 'regret' and so the argument ensues. Now the song is my MP3 cd and I play it now and then whenever I feel like reminiscing.
One of the 'elders' said that there are at least 6 angels that surrounds a person protecting him/her. How cool is that? They never talk to me though but he said that they will try to whisper in the heart of person telling him/her what is right and what is wrong. Should have listen to my heart more... cos I keep on doing the wrong things ;-)

Love is all around

The song has been modified in the movie 'Love Actually'. I finally watched the movie after waiting for it to show again in Star Movies. I really liked it a lot, specially the last part where the boy raced to the airport and through the airport officials to meet his one and true love. I am basically a sucker for romantic movies.
I went for a haircut on Tuesday. I tried a different barber this time. There a lot of barbers in my neighbourhood and I feel that I am spoilt for choice.
"Slope ?," he asked. I told him ok cos thought he was just going to do the part just above the neck but when he took his motorized shaver all over my head I was in a state of total shock. " It will grow back", I thought as I read in the book that I am reading now. Coincidentally as I was waiting for my turn, I read a chapter in the book where the main character go for a haircut. Nonetheless after he finish, it was shorter than I expected, I realized it was not so bad. Sensing that I was stressed out he gave me a minor massage, twisting my neck and body so that it snapped and cracked here and there. Hmmm not bad ... maybe he is better a massuese than a barber.

Born to the Leper Messiah

Song from a Metallica Album... they don't rock as they use to anymore.
A few months ago, during the fasting month, I came back from Terwih prayers and saw a man lying down on the bottom of my staircase. He couldn't get up apparently. Since I know where he lives,he happen to be my neighbour, I knocked onto the door of his house and ask his brother to bring him up. I helped him of course and thankfully he just lived 2 floors below me.
Two nights ago I came back with my wife and I saw him again lying on the floor of my flat. His sister was nearby asleep in the car. It seemed that his sister, was waiting for a parking lot while he tried to go back on his own and because she waited too long, she dozed off unaware that his brother fell down. While I helped her put him on the wheelchair I asked her what was wrong with him. " Parkison Disease", she said. Poor guy. It must have been hard living a life like that. Not only that, for brothers and sisters to take care of him, must have even be harder. We all should be thankful that God give us good health.

To be of Rock and not to Roll...

That's the line of a Led Zeppelin song. I went to HMV the other day while waiting for a friend. I took a look at the cds that was on offer. Somehow none of them interest me. Maybe I've outgrown the cd era or maybe I'm more into MP3s or just maybe its a sign of aging.
Well I went to a ex colleague house the other day for a post CNY celebration. She lives in a condo and the swimming pool just look gorgeous with a waterfall-like setting. I always thought of what it would be like I could live in one. But it doesn't really matter though cos I'm happy with what I have. I can always go the Bukit Batok $1 swimming pool whenever I want to take a dip.

New moon on Monday

Duran- duran song... dunno what happen to them.
Its been a long time since I've been to Batam. I went there again this CNY, mosque visiting trip. We were suppose to go to a nearby island but were sent via a 2 hour boat trip to Pulau Jaga. The boat had little cover so most of were wet with sea water and tanned by the sun. The mosque didn't have fans save for two little ones that were switched on only for 2 hours at night but it was okay. We were there to learn the trials and tribulations faced by the pioneers of Islam, not for a holiday. The local brothers cooked for us and we spent our time trying our best to visit all of the 80 houses of fishermen who were there. We set back to Singapore on Monday and had time to do a little bit of shopping at the mainland Batam.
