Where the streets have no name

Song by U2

I spent Easter at Johore, 3 days in a mosque. The cool part about the mosque was that it was air conditioned even as we sleep. The not so cool part was when we had to stand for a bout 2 and half hours waiting for the customs to check our passports. There was the traffic jam and the human jam. We left our mosque at 8am and reached Johore at 1230pm. Anyway the place where we went was like a ghost town but we did manage to meet some brothers whom we invited to the mosque. There a lot of Pakistanis down there. When we went back we had lunch at Larkin. The Tom Yam was superb and so was the satay. Now I know have more makan places that I take note of.

It started with a kiss

Song by Hot Chocolate.

I spend Friday night playing bowling at Bukut Batok CSC with my wife and friend for 2 hours. Longest I ever played I guess. Last week we couldn't get to bowl but somehow that night a few lanes are available. Despite the fact I still don't really know how to spin the ball properly, I still manage to get a personal best of 123 points for 1 game. I'm going again tomorrow with my colleagues.
I keep on bumping to old friends. The other day I was at the gym and I meet up one of my NUS course mates who is married and just had a daughter. I also met my former recruit last week. He is doing ok even though he just divorced, he is running a few shops one of which is in Ghim Moh.
My wife told me yesterday to watch the first half of the soccer match between Man U and Arsenal in the bedroom TV cos she is watching a program which is not available in the TV inside. I said " OK, you know the price" I leaned over for her to kiss me. She did nothing. I said " Excuse me, why is it always I'm the one who have to kiss you?". " Cos that's the way it is ..." was her reply. She looked at me and I looked at her and somehow we kiss each other. [... and live happily ever after ;-)]

Believe me

song by Fort Minor . I spend the Saturday Night looking for a place to bowl around my area. At first me, my wife, my sis in law and my best friend went to CSC Bukit Batok but they said we have to wait for about 1 hour. Then we head to CDANS which was also packed and then Chevron - same story. So we just decide to head back home. I send the car and watch Man utd beat Bolton at home at channel 23.
Yesterday when I was about to go home after Isyak prayers at the mosque I was approached by this dude. He was about early twenties, had a bicycle and tattoo on his body. When he started talking I knew that he wanted money. He told me a story of how his father died and then have no money to go to hospital to visit him. He wanted only $3.80 for bus/mrt fare which I thought was weird. Normally I would ignore these people cos most of the time they would use the money to buy cigarettes or other stuff but I was in a good mood so I gave him a dollar+ and told him that's all I got. I even showed him my 'empty' wallet. I actually had $10 stashed in a hidden compartment.
